Over the weekend, a car accident occurred in the Chattanooga area which resulted in an individual's death.
The accident happened on Saturday. Reportedly, that afternoon, a pickup truck was entering southbound Hixson Pike after having exited Highway 153. The pickup truck was being driven by a 68-year-old man. According to authorities, the pickup truck then went over Hixson Pike's median into the road's northbound lane, where it struck a car. The car was being driven by a 54-year-old man.
Reportedly, this motor vehicle accident is still in the process of being investigated.
As we mentioned above, this motor vehicle accident resulted in a loss of life. Specifically, the 54-year-old man died as a result of this crash. According to the article on the Chattanooga Times Free Press' website which reported this story, this accident also resulted in the 68-year-old man suffering serious injuries.
Motor vehicle collisions can involve very violent impacts and can cause great harm to the individuals involved. As the above-mentioned crash demonstrates, such accidents can sometimes even have fatal results.
Thus, it is very important for motor vehicle drivers to do everything they reasonably can to prevent motor vehicle accidents. This includes driving in a responsible manner and obeying all applicable traffic laws when behind the wheel. It also includes doing everything one reasonably can to remain in control of one's vehicle when out on the roads.
One hopes that motor vehicle drivers in Tennessee will do what they can to help keep the state's roads safe for all who use them.
